
It is a subject named Architecture Heritage of Malaysia for students to analyze the historical data for the purpose of understanding the factors influencing the built environment heritage. With this project, student are required to sit for image tracing on the heritage element of the building, thereby understand more on the principles of Architecture.
Projects below shows up the studies of one traditional house in Malaysia, which is Rumah Uda Manap, located on the banks of Perak River in Kampung Ngior, Tanjung Blanja, or now known as Parit. It as first own by the wealthy migrant from Sumatera named Uda Manap, for the purpose of a gift to his bride, Ngah Porbu, who came from Indonesia to marry him. After his death, the house was own and rebuilt by the assassin of Birch, the British resident of Perak named Maharaja Lela. With the renovation of the house done by a chinese craftmens, the features of Chinese motif, dragons, phoenixs, and calligraphy characters combined with flowers and birds are craved in the window and the facade of the house. Therefore, it become the uniqueness of the house that having the heritage elements of the house.
